Over 650 Iranians Killed In First Week Of War With Israel
A human rights agency based in the United States has disclosed that more than 650 people have been killed in Iran following a massive Israeli bombing campaign launched a week ago.
The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) on Friday reported that 657 people had died and 2037 injured in the nationwide airstrikes in Iran.
Though the Iranian government does not publish daily figures on casualties, the HRANA relies on a broad network of informants and publicly available sources.
The group said the dead included at least 263 civilians and 164 members of the military.
Another 230 fatalities remain unidentified.
The network also reported damage to civilian infrastructure, including a projectile striking a children’s hospital in Tehran, which did not result in injuries.
In the western province of Ilam, a fire station was damaged, HRANA said, while an Israeli attack on a car factory in western Iran triggered a large fire.
Israel maintains that its objective is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which it considers an existential threat.
Naija News House had on Friday reported that amid its war with Israel, Iran vowed not to hold any talks with the United States of America.
This position was stated by the country’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi.
He described the United States as a “partner to Israeli crime against Iran” and said that Iran would not come to the table with any foreign power until Israel’s attacks against the country cease.
“Americans want to negotiate and have sent messages several times, but we clearly said that as long as this aggression doesn’t stop, there’s no place for talk of dialogue,” he told state television.
