Why focus?
Concentration is one powerful force that enables one to achieve success in life. You’ve got to imbibe the culture of switching off your mind from external distraction; in order to steady tour gaze on the direction of your goal it you want to attribute which bring about fulfillment of purpose.
According to Terry Noah, ‘A life devoid of focus is a life devoid of destiny. Your dream deserves total focus. ‘When you stay focused, you can build your dream starting with whatsoever that is in your hand at present. The skyscrapers you see today were built with one brick at a time. Every big thing started small. It is said little drop of water eventually fill up a pot.
The reasons men fail in life is due to lack of lofty dreams coupled with lack of focus.
A man without a specific target shoots at every direction and nowhere in particular. When you don’t know where you are going, you may not know whether you’ve arrived where you were meant to be. Focus is your anchor in the storm of life; it is a meaningful and significant future. A purposeless life is an early death. What you believe about your mission in life is the force that determines what you may accomplish, or fail to accomplish during your lifetime on the earth.
According to his biography, Napoleon’s success was due mainly to his ability to concentrate his mind on one course until it is accomplished. He was also able to avoid all forms of distractions even from his loved ones.
He wrote my mind is like a chest of drawers. I don’t put all things in one drawer. I put things separately in each drawer where they belong. That is how I am able to give full concentration to the subject of mind.
When I was at the Apostolic bible college, Obot Idim Nsit Uyo in Akwa Ibom State; I used to read six different devotional books together with my academic study materials. I was always occupied with a lot of work and this was in consonance with what the lord told me, that I was going to be one of the renowned authors of my time. That made me developed the will-power and the ability to concentrate and take up any challenge that came my way. While others students were busy roaming around and having fun, I was busy reading and studying. Today, by the grace of God I am working towards the simultaneous publication of my fourth and fifth books respectively.
To make good use of each day is the very key to success. You have to use each day as it comes irrespective of what happened yesterday or what is to happen the next. Whatever work you are doing, pay full attention to it. Concentrate, make sure that at the end of the day, it is going to be ‘ a job well done.’ By the time you do this, you will always be filled with a sense of satisfaction knowing that you’ve been able to accomplish what you mapped out for that day. You will go to bed with a peace of mind.
Mahatma Gandhi said, ‘one thing a time is enough for me.’ In essence, this emphasizes the philosophy of total commitment to a given task… whether it’s to be done it, It’s all about focus. Many people have allowed one thing or the other to distract them from working with unbridled concentration. As a result, their lives are marred. They live aimlessly and make no serious impact in the society, or in people’s lives.
Identify and seek out information that will compliment your effort and be immense help to achieving success.
Let others live and behave anyhow, but it shouldn’t be you. Focus on your dream(s) and work at it.
Prioritize your activities
If you want to change the way you are, and the poor results you’ve been having all this while; prioritize your activities. Write out your daily activities in order of their importance; and on each attach the result you expect at the end of the day. Then start executing them one after the other beginning with the first one activity on your list. Do this every day, every week and every month; you will be amazed at the results you’ve been able to achieve at the end of a year. When you’ve committed to a particular task until is done, you create real magic in your life.
Do you give it to pleasure, frivolities or idleness… or do you channel it to things that matter? Take responsibilities for how you spend every minute of your day. Take control of the things you do and make each day count for you. Remember, if you fail to decide on how your day and time should be spent, someone or something else would.

Don’t be a rolling stone

Do not allow the wind of unnecessary pleasures, or criticism, or doubts, or uncertainties to blow you off the position of your dream.
Firmly put down your feet, and march confidently toward your destiny path. Be alert, but don’t be alarmed, and don’t be moved over the things which do not deserve your attention.
