A’ibom Council Boss commends speaker’s chief Protocol on sports Development
…promises to promote sports in Uruan
The Executive Chairman of Uruan Local Government, (Hon.)Suvr. Iniobong Ekpenyong, has commended the Chief Protocol to Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Desmond Etim, for his love and steadfastness in promoting sports development in Uruan Local government which is in line with the state government’s Completion Agenda.
The Chairman made this known on Sunday, when he performed the kick-off for the final competition of the 4th Edition of Eman Ikot Ebo Inter family football competition held at St. Maurrice’s Primary School, Eman Ikot Ebo, Uruan Local Government Area.
Speaking during the kick-off, Surv. Iniobong acknowledged the strides, commitment, optimism and passion of Hon. Desmond for consistently promoting sport in Uruan since 2017.
Responding, Hon. Desmond appreciated the Chairman for finding time to share with the people of Eman Ikot Ebo on this competition.
He further appreciated the Hon. Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey for his love towards the people of Eman, mostly for donating the trophies to promote the tournament, he pray for God to give him more enablement to do more for Uruan and Akwa Ibom state at large.
While presenting the trophy to second position of the competition Udo Nya family, Mr Charles Iwatt, Chief of Staff to the Speaker, said Hon. Desmond has done well for promoting Unity and love in Uruan through sports.
He charged the second runner off not to see themselves as failure, but as a winner and also to improve on their preparation if they want to emerge first next year.
Hon. Augustine Ita, Hon. Abel James and Mrs Abel James who spoke during the entertainment section of the event expressed satisfaction and pleasure over Mr Speaker gestures toward Eman and Desmond commitment to unite and developed the community at all time and also for fulfilling his promise on bringing Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Cooperation (AKBC) to covered the grand finale to enable those who couldn’t attend the event watch it later under a period of three (3)days.
Meanwhile, the Competition featured six families participated in the competition saw Nung Ekpe family and Nung Udo Nya qualified for grand finale which Nung Ekpe the defending champion emerged as the winner for the second time of the 4th Edition of the Football tournament.
The final match tournament witnessed the presence of the Executive Chairman of Uruan, Surv. Iniobong, Vice Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Uduak, Chief of staff to the Speaker, Mr Charles Iwatt, Hon. Nsikak Bassey, Ward leader southern Uruan ward 2, Village head of Eman, Etidung Christopher Okune, Mr Samuel Peter President Organized Uruan Youth Forum, the leader of Uruan legislative council, Hon. Sunday Bassey, Hon. Uduak Ibanga, Councillor representing southern Uruan ward 6, Hon. Henshaw Atakpo, Hon. Ifiokobong Asuqwo, Hon. Loveth Etim, Hon. Nsikak Edem, Hon. Daniel Ufe, Daniel Clement, Hon. Joseph Effiong, Hon. Affiong Okon, Hon. Kingsley Idongette and among others.
Highpoint of the tournament were presentation of trophy and cash prizes to the first position team, Nung Ekpe, second Nung Nya and Nung Inyang Etukudo as third position respectively.
