Tinubu Departs For Europe, UAE Ahead Of Abu Dhabi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break, with plans to proceed to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the President’s spokesperson on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu would travel from Europe to the UAE to attend the summit scheduled for early January.
According to the statement, President Tinubu was invited by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to participate in the high-level global event.
“The weeklong summit is an annual event that mobilises leaders from government, business, and society to chart the next era of sustainable development,” Onanuga said.
He added that the 2026 edition of the summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” will focus on linking ambition with action across innovation, finance, and people, while showcasing pathways for sustainable global development.
The spokesperson noted that President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
