BREAKING: Mentally Unstable Man Snatches AK-47 Rifle From Soldier, Shoots Him Dead

There was tension on Monday at a military checkpoint in Lagos State, after a mentally unstable man killed one of the soldiers stationed at the facility.

Naija News House learnt that the man snatched a rifle from the soldier and shot him dead.

The incident happened in Agbowa community, along Ikorodu expressway in Lagos State on Monday.

“An insane man snatched a military man’s rifle and shot him dead at a check point. It happened at Adeogun bridge in Agbowa,” a police source said.

Calls put across to the Lagos State command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi were not picked nor returned.

This happened just as earlier reported that a Nigerian Army top officer and commander, Brigadier General M. Uba, was killed by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters after the terrorists reportedly intercepted and tracked his location along the Damboa–Biu axis in Borno State.

The tragic incident occurred shortly after the Brigade Commander had participated in a successful joint air–ground offensive against insurgents in the area.

The General had reportedly spoken with his superiors earlier, confirming that he was safe following the operation and was regrouping with his team.

However, the officer’s communication may have inadvertently exposed his coordinates.
He was captured alive while the terrorists interrogated him briefly before summarily executing him.
