EXCLUSIVE: Fresh Crisis Rocks Akwa Ibom PDP, Governor queries Party Chieftains Over Mass Defections, Reveals Next Action
Information reaching Naija News House says that Fresh Crisis Rocks Akwa Ibom PDP, Governor queries Party Chieftains Over Mass Defections, Reveals Next Action
The political relationship between the Governor of Akwa Ibom state and Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem as well as state PDP chairman, Rt Hon. Aniekan Akpan seems to be frosty.
A source from Government House who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the Governor in the past one week has not been comfortable with the political developments in the state.
“The Governor cut short his Lagos trip to have meeting with the MPM chief, Emmanuel Enoidem on Monday July 25, 2022. The meeting had in attendance the PDP state chairman and Chief Assam Assam . The Governor who was visibly worried enquired why the PDP is losing members everyday after all the assurances”, our source revealed.
We gathered that the “let them go we will still win” response by Emmanuel Enoidem seriously angered the Governor who told him that he personally has funded and supported all suggestions and programs of the MPM to actualize his ambition of installing Umo Eno as his successor, but daily events turn out to show that his effort is futile.
On the issue of certificate forgery, our source said “the Governor also complained bitterly how a huge amount of money was spent to an individual who promised to provide a document to convince the court and the general public that his ‘preferred’ has school certificate. The Governor regretted the embarrassment the certificate saga has caused the government and the party maintaining that the errors in the documents presented as certificate were deliberate with a view to embarrassing the party and his succession agenda”.
The Governor’s preferred, Umo Eno is embroiled in certificate scandal and the matter which is in court has exposed the fact that the certificate paraded by the former commissioner for lands and water resources is forged, putting to question how he secured admission to study Political Science at the University of Uyo.
