E-Registration: APC Accuses ADC of Disinformation Campaign

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants are being coerced into registering as members of the ruling party under its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the APC described the claims as false, baseless and aimed at undermining what it called a successful and transparent digitisation of its membership register. The party said the accusations were motivated by the ADC’s discomfort with the massive public response to the exercise.
The APC further accused the ADC of engaging in a disinformation campaign, alleging that the opposition party recently fabricated and circulated a fake APC membership slip purportedly linked to a notorious terrorist in an attempt to discredit the registration process.
According to the ruling party, millions of Nigerians have voluntarily and enthusiastically registered through the e-registration platform, citing growing public confidence inspired by the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The APC said the overwhelming turnout prompted its leadership to extend the registration deadline from January 31 to February 8, 2026, in response to popular demand.
While faulting the ADC for what it described as falsehoods and political intimidation, the APC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening internal democracy through digital innovation and pledged to remain focused on its programmes and policies.
The statement was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka.
