“We Are Not a Mixture, We Are Now a Compound” — Ganduje, Hails APC Unity, Integration Drive

“We are not a mixture, we are now a compound,” former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, declared on Tuesday at the National Assembly Complex, as he emphasized the party’s growing unity and successful integration of new members across political lines.

Ganduje on Tuesday reaffirmed the strength and cohesion of the ruling party, describing the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a fully integrated political force rather than a loose coalition.

Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, he expressed satisfaction with the level of unity within the party, noting that recent political developments have reinforced its internal stability and inclusiveness.

“I haven’t done that… and also our Executive Governor, Engineer Kabir, and all our members of the National Assembly and State Assembly… it’s something that we are really so happy about,” he said, commending party stakeholders for their collective efforts.

The former chairman also praised Bola Ahmed Tinubu for fostering what he described as an enabling political environment that encourages cross-party collaboration and defection.

“We thank Mr. President for providing an enabling environment for other political parties to see that APC has the climate of accommodating other members,” Ganduje stated, assuring new entrants of full integration into the party structure.

On internal party processes, the former Kano Governor highlighted the importance of consensus-building in reducing tensions during primaries and conventions. According to him, the APC’s approach to consensus candidacy helps minimize conflict and strengthens party discipline.

“Consensus has two stages. First of all, after consensus, there will be affirmation. If there’s consensus and affirmation, it is equally the same as an election because it reduces friction… and disagreements that may likely lead to anti-party activities,” he explained.

He further stressed that the party’s focus on grassroots integration remains key to consolidating its political base ahead of future elections.

Ganduje’s remarks come amid ongoing political realignments within Nigeria’s political landscape, with the APC positioning itself as a unifying platform for diverse political interests.
