APC: We Will Rule Beyond 2023, Nigerians Loves Us – Tinubu
We will rule beyond 2023, Nigerians loves us. It has been reported that the former Lagos state governor, Senator Bola Tinubu is optimistic that the ruling APC will retain power at the federal level after the 2023 polls.
Tinubu who is the national leader of the party made the comment after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Tinubu met the president alongside a former interim national chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, says the APC is loved by Nigerians and has bright chances of retaining power at the federal level beyond 2023.
Nigerians will return to the queues to elect new sets of public office holders across the board in the first quarter of the year 2023.
Tinubu is confident that Nigerians will vote to keep the APC in power beyond 2023. Speaking to State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday night, April 26, Tinubu said:
“The chances are as bright as a midnight star and we will continue to work for a better Nigeria. We cannot interject politics and assumptions in everything, we have a nation to build.”
Media reports that the former Lagos state governor also charged all well-meaning citizens to remain united in the wake of current security challenges confronting some parts of the country.
According to him, all Nigerians must put aside their religious, political, or ethnic differences and cooperate with security agents to surmount the problem.
The media quoted Tinubu as saying he was at the State House alongside Chief Akande to consult with President Buhari on solutions to the various challenges facing the country, urging all Nigerians to support the government.
According to him, the current discomfort cannot be said to be peculiar but finding solutions, through consultations and exchange of views and ideas on how to change the fortunes of the country, should be collective and contributive.
Meanwhile, some Nigerians have been reacting to the meeting between the trio after photos from their deliberations surfaced online.
Oludaisi Soyemi wrote on Facebook: “Haven’t they been meeting prior to this particular meeting? What is so special about the top leaders of APC meeting one another. Enough of their propaganda.
They should expedite solutions to the diverse security crisis in Nigeria instead of grandstanding whilst paying lip service to the hydra-headed anarchy and sabotage taking place under their watch.
“Juxtapose these pictures with images of gruesome murders and wanton destruction of infrastructures, and one can see they don’t understand that fire is not just on the mountain but on their rooftops.” Amaechi Martins wrote:
“All they are after is 2023. The killings are none of their concern. May God help the masses.” Okechukwu Stanley Chinedu wrote: “People are dying every day like chickens and all these politicians are after is 2023. Maybe when everyone is dead, they will rule the empty country.”
Media had earlier reported that President Buhari held talks with Tinubu and former APC interim national chairman, Chief Bisi Akande at the Presidential Villa.
It was gathered that issues discussed among the trio revolved around national security, the economy as well as party matters.
In a related development, Nigerian senators on Tuesday, April 27 expressed fear that Boko Haram insurgents may overrun the nation’s capital, Abuja.
The senators expressed their concerns during plenary after a motion, moved through a point of order by Senator Musa Sani from Niger state.
Sani, the senator representing Niger East senatorial district, informed his colleagues that members of the terrorist group are just some two hours away from Abuja.
We will rule beyond 2023, Nigerians loves us. Till 2023. What is your comment?
