Information reaching Naija News House say that Armed Robbers Shoot FRSC officer
In Lokoja on Friday, an officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was attacked and shot by suspected armed robbers.
SP William Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to Aya, the attack occurred around 1:30 p.m. near Lokongoma, Phase 1 in Lokoja. Officers responding to a distress call found the FRSC officer, identified as Abu, lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to his legs and shoulder.

“Abu was returning from the bank when an ash-colored Toyota Camry intercepted him near Lokongoma Market, Phase 1, and robbed him of an unspecified amount of money,” Aya reported. “A sum of N139,000 was recovered at the scene, and the victim was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.”
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Bertrand Onuoha, has dispatched officers to track down the suspects and ensure they face justice.
An eyewitness, preferring to remain anonymous, recounted that the FRSC officer was riding his motorcycle towards his home in Zango-Daji, Lokoja, when the robbers struck.
The assailants fired multiple shots at the victim as he struggled to protect his bag before they made off with his money.
