Bandit Kingpins Arrested; Over 2000 Rounds Of Ammunition Recovered

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command says its operatives have arrested five wanted banditry kingpins notorious for terrorising parts of North Central, North West and North East Nigeria.

According to a statement on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects were tracked down in Nassarawa State after an intelligence-led operation carried out between September 20 and 28, 2025, by the Commander of the elite Scorpion Squad.

Those arrested include 40-year-old Abdullahi Garuba, also known as Alhaji Ore; 59-year-old Yusuf Inuwa, alias Alhaji Dabunda; 29-year-old David Kaika, alias Baba; 36-year-old Baba Imaji (female); and one Ibrahim Nasiru, popularly called Pepper.

The police said the suspects had long been on the wanted list of security agencies over their alleged involvement in high-profile kidnappings across the three regions.

Exhibits recovered from the gang include: 2,186 rounds of 7.62x39mm live ammunition; Two AK-47 rifles with obliterated serial numbers; One locally made pistol with two cartridges and Five operational motorcycles

“All the suspects have confessed to their crimes and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations,” Adeh said.

Amassive blow has been dealt to organized crime as the FCT Police Command arrests five suspects wanted for kidnapping and recovered a cache of weapons, including two rifles and over 2,000 rounds of ammunition.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, praised the bravery of the operatives and vowed that the Command would sustain aggressive operations against banditry and kidnapping syndicates.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through the police emergency numbers.

The command noted that efforts are ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate.
