WATCH: Body Spills From Casket After Hearse Collides With Truck

A body spilled out of a casket after the hearse carrying it collided with a semi-truck in a horrifying scene.

Disturbing video shows witnesses, including members of the dead person’s family, responding to the crash and working to load the damaged casket back into the hearse.

The hearse driver attempted to swerve away from the semi-truck in Zona Bananera, Colombia, before smashing into it head-on, local news outlets reported.

The impact of the crash sent the wooden casket flying out of the hearse’s back door.

Footage showed the body of a deceased man lying partially inside the uncovered coffin and parts of the truck strewn across the ground.

A preliminary report from Magdalena Police Traffic and Transportation Section found that the base of the coffin was not placed correctly inside the hearse.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the crash. They did not rule out that the accident may have been caused by a mechanical failure.

The incident comes almost two weeks after a deceased man’s eyes opened while he was lying inside his coffin at a wake in the Dominican Republic.
