    Boko Haram Fuel Supplier Arrested

The Nigerian Army has apprehended a suspected Boko Haram fuel supplier, Thomas James, 54, in Borno State.

The arrest was made on September 23 at Forward Operating Base Ngwom, where James was caught with 23 bottles of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) concealed in a bag while traveling along the Maiduguri-Gamboru Ngala road.

According to a post shared on X by Zagazola Makama with pictures, investigations have confirmed James’ link to Boko Haram’s fuel supply chain.

The suspect is currently in custody, undergoing further investigation.

Naija News House had earlier on Saturday, reported arrest of three suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers on September 25.

The suspects identified as Tijjani Ali, 49, Isiyaka Hassan, 25, and Ali Idris, 19, were arrested in a daring stop-and-search operation along the Maiduguri-Konduga road.

The suspects were caught with five jerricans of PMS concealed in “Ghana-must-go” bags.

The Nigerian Army has intensified its efforts to disrupt Boko Haram’s supply chain, dealing a significant blow to the terrorist group’s operations in the North East.

In August 2024, the army arrested two suspected Boko Haram commanders, Bana Yamode and Babagana Usman, who had previously led attacks on troops in the area.

Two suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers, Mallam Mustapha Ismaila and Abdulmudalabi Haruna, were also apprehended during the operation.

The military’s continued crackdown on Boko Haram’s logistics network has yielded significant results, with several suspects arrested and large quantities of fuel and fertilizer seized. The operations are part of the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.
