    BREAKING: Chief Judge Is Dead

The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, has been confirmed dead at the age of 63 after a brief illness.

The tragic news was confirmed on Tuesday by the Chief Registrar of the Ekiti State Judiciary, Olanike Adegoke.

In a statement issued by the judiciary’s Public Relations Officer, Michael Oba, Adegoke paid tribute to the late Chief Judge, describing him as “a highly respected jurist who devoted his life to upholding the principles of fairness, equity, and justice.”

Adegoke further remarked, “The contributions of the late Chief Judge to the judiciary and to Ekiti State are immeasurable. His legacy will be deeply felt and sorely missed.”

Last year, Justice Adeyeye landed in a hospital after a section of the state high court complex collapsed on him while in the office.

Justice Adeyeye, born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government Area, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986.

He was appointed Chief Judge of Ekiti State in October 2021 and served with great distinction in the role until his passing.
