BREAKING: Fubara Finally Dumps PDP
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fubara announced his decision on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt, marking a significant shift in the state’s political landscape.
His defection comes amid heightened political tension in the oil-rich Niger Delta region and follows his visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa just a day earlier.
The move also aligns with recent developments in the state assembly, where several lawmakers recently crossed from the PDP to the APC.
With this development, Fubara joins the growing list of PDP governors who have switched to the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
