Information reaching Naija News House says that Jonathan Is Dead
Jonathan Silas Zwingina, the former Senator representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, has reportedly passed away in Abuja after battling a prolonged illness.
Though his family has yet to issue an official confirmation, credible sources indicate that Zwingina died on Tuesday, just two months after celebrating his 70th birthday.
A founding member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Zwingina was a dedicated advocate for democracy throughout his political career.
He served two terms as Senate Majority Leader and played a pivotal role in shaping legislative policy, having been an active participant on various Senate committees, including Works and Housing, Internal Affairs, and Economic Affairs.
Zwingina first entered the political scene in 1999, and his contributions to the democratic process were widely acknowledged.
Later in his career, he made a significant shift by joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he continued his advocacy for good governance and democracy, serving as the chairman of the board of trustees for the Save Democracy Group Africa.
