BREAKING: Nigerian Police Boss Is Dead
The Borno State Police Command has announced the death of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abubakar A. Balteh, who died on Saturday, following a vehicle accident.
In a statement issued, the Command expressed deep regret over the loss, describing the late officer as a dedicated and diligent professional who served the force with commitment until his passing.
ACP Balteh was, until his demise, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at the Borno State Command.
The statement, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, conveyed condolences to the family, colleagues, and associates of the deceased officer.
The Command also offered prayers for the repose of his soul, invoking the Islamic phrase “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un,” which translates to “Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return.”
While specific details surrounding the accident were not disclosed, the Command noted that further information, including burial arrangements, would be communicated in due course.
ACP Balteh’s death marks a significant loss to the Command, particularly to the Criminal Investigation Department, where he played a key leadership role in overseeing investigations and maintaining law and order within the state.
As tributes pour in from within and outside the police community, the Borno State Police Command has asked the public to keep the family of the late officer in their thoughts and prayers during this period of mourning.
