Canada To Merge With US As 51st States

Canada To Merge

United States president-elect, Donald Trump, has stated that many Canadian nationals want their country to merge with US as the 51st state to fight off the constant threats from Russia and China.

Trump’s words are coming as reactionary to the resignation of Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.

“Many people in Canada LOVE being the 51st State. The United States can no longer suffer the massive Trade Deficits and Subsidies that Canada needs to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this, and resigned,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“If Canada merged with the U.S., there would be no Tariffs, taxes would go way down, and they would be TOTALLY SECURE from the threat of the Russian and Chinese Ships that are constantly surrounding them. Together, what a great Nation it would be!!!” he added

Sources told Fox News in December that Trump brought up the merger idea to Trudeau in person when the pair met at Mar-a-Lago in late November.

The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, earlier announced his resignation on Monday.

Trudeau’s resignation follows polls that show his party is likely to suffer a heavy defeat to the official opposition, the Conservatives, in an election that must be held by late October.

Trudeau had said he was stepping down to allow his party to choose a new leader as he suspends parliament until March due to political deadlock.

The 53-year-old said he would step down as leader of the country’s ruling Liberal Party, which he has led since 2013.

Trudeau, who has been prime minister since 2015, faced calls to quit from a chorus of his MPs amid poor showings in opinion polls.

Earlier in December, his finance minister, Chrystia Freeland, resigned over clashes on policy.
