Tinubu Under Fire For Sending Comedians, Skitmakers To India To Assess CNG Safety, Ignoring Engineers, Professionals
Nigerians have condemned the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government for sending comedians and skit makers to do quality check of the Compressed National Gas (CNG).
In a now trending video on X, the Nigerian government sent skit makers and comedians like “Ola of Lagos, Basketmouth” and host of others to India to do quality check for CNG.
Commenting on the development, a X user with the handle @ourfavoriteonlinedoc blasted the government for ignoring engineers and spending money on sending skitmakers to do a check on CNG.
โThis is quite saddening tbh. They didnโt send professors of engineering.โ
โThey didnโt send PhD researchers and MSc students in technology from the countryโs best universities.โ
โThey didnโt send people who have the professional competence to analyse the innovation and recommend it for the public.โ
โThey sent Ola of Lagos who will come back just to roll on the floor and scream โput CNG in your car you will love itโ.What a shame.โ he posted on X.
Another user identified as Arikeade on X shared her thoughts wondering why the government believe in content creators than professionals.
โtheir favourite artists and content creator over professionalsโ the X user posted.
Another user @frankobaressi stated that the development is what happens when โtoutsโ are in charge of the affairs of the country.
โThis is what happens when we let touts handle the affairs of this nation. They’re hell-bent on defying the laws of logic.โ
โStudents nowadays are stuck between striving for good grades or making money. Itโs either Isaac Newton or Pablo Escobar.โ the X user posted
The Nigerian government has been promoting the use of CNG for buses as against use of petrol, canvassing that CNG is safe and cheaper to use.
There have however been concerns on the safety of CNG, especially given explosions recorded by vehicles using CNG in the country.
