Nigerian Army Releases List of Successful DSSC 29/2026 Candidates, Training Begins

The Nigerian Army has announced the list of successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) 29/2026 Selection Board, directing them to report for officer cadet training at the Officer Cadet Training Wing of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, Kaduna State.

According to the Army, the training is scheduled to commence on Friday, 27 March 2026. Candidates can check the full list of successful applicants on the Nigerian Army recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng

The Army advised all successful candidates to report to NASI Jaji with specific items required for the training. These include writing materials, original academic credentials along with the online printout bearing their passport photographs, and several sets of clothing and personal items.

Among the required items are plain white round-neck vests, royal-blue shorts without stripes, white canvas trainers, maroon-red vests, navy-blue tracksuits, long-sleeve shirts, black tie and belt, white and black socks, black and white trousers, a dark-coloured lounge suit, national dress or suits, casual wear, rubber-strapped wristwatch, black cover shoes, swimming trunks, bed sheets, pillowcases, a blanket (grey or army green), football boots, and a pressing iron.

Female candidates are also required to bring additional items, including a pair of black low-heel cover shoes, four dark-coloured lounge skirts, four pairs of tight black or blue shorts, and two trouser suits.

The Army further directed serving military personnel among the successful candidates to report with release letters and passes from their respective commanders or commanding officers.

It warned that successful candidates who fail to report on the stipulated date will forfeit their slots to candidates on the reserve list.

Reserve candidates were advised not to report to the training school unless contacted, noting that they may only be called upon if vacancies arise. The Army also stated that no vacancy will be available for reserve candidates after 20 April 2026.
