Emirship tussle: After Court Ruled In Favour Of Aminu Bayero Heavy Tension Hits Kano
Tension now envelops the minds of residents of the ancient city of Kano following the Thursday court ruling that nullified the procedures taken by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to sack Emir Aminu Ado Bayero.
Immediately after the Federal High Court, presided over by Justice Abdullahi Muhammad Liman, pronounced its ruling on Thursday, setting aside all steps taken by the Kano State government to repeal the Kano Emirates Council Law, the environment in the state capital changed.
However, at the Emir’s palace at Nassarawa Guest House, where Emir Aminu Ado Bayero resides, his loyalists were seen smiling and exchanging pleasantries, while others continued with their normal business activities.
It was discovered that in other places within the town, people were seen gathered in small groups discussing the outcome of the ruling.
