BREAKING: Former APC National Secretary, Senator Udoedehe Dumps Party, Letter
Information reaching Naija News House says that Former APC National Secretary, Senator Udoedehe Dumps Party
Senator John Udoedehe has resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. Udoedehe, is immediate past National Secretary of the ruling party and had sought her gubernatorial ticket to contest in 2023.
Senator Udoedehe, a founding member of the party and former Minister, was manipulated out of the governorship ticket contest of the party penultimate week when the national secretariat of the party sided a faction of the party working against his governorship ambition. The Press learnt that the national secretariat of the party had rebuffed all entreaties to reorganise the nomination and use INEC approved delegate list which held the hope of Udoedehe’s success and APC being on the ballot next year.
Citizenswatch on Monday gathered that Akpanudoedehe, in a swift move to join a yet to be disclosed party and secure her governorship ticket to contest the gubernatorial poll in 2023, had ditched the APC. The paper sighted Senator John Udoedehe’s resignation letter written to the ward chairman of Uyo ward six. The letter is dated 4th June 2022.
The letter stated in part that: “Henceforth, I cease to be a member of APC in my ward or anywhere for that matter. I hereby relinquish all rights which inured to me as a member of the APC, member of the national advisory council and member of the national caucus of the APC.
“This decision to part ways with the APC is a tough one, but leadership entails adherence to the wishes of the vast majority of associates, allies and supporters who have shown fidelity over time and have now witnessed the obduracy of the APC in handling the candidate selection processes in Akwa Ibom State.
“Our greater goal of providing service to the people of our dear state remains sacrosanct”, the letter stated.
Speculation have been rife that Akpanudoedehe was defecting to SDP. Findings from informed sources around Senator Akpanudoedehe said the Senator was heading to New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP where he will fly the governorship ticket of the party in 2023. A close aid of the Senator said their experiences in the APC has been bitter just as the experiences of Akwa Ibomites under the PDP. “The new party we are bringing to Akwa Ibom State is represented with a basket full of fruits. You find pineapple, apples, banana and different fruits. You take fruits when you are malnourished and when you want to become healthy. We are presenting NNPP to Akwa to Akwa Ibom State. It holds the fruits that will end the bitter experiences of every Akwa Ibomites in the hands of APC and the PDP.
“We want our supporters to eat these fruits, give these fruits to their friends to eat and be happy. In 2023, we are bringing joy and happiness to the people of our State when they vote for Senator John Udoedehe”, he said.
