    Saudi Arabia, Other Countries Agree To Join Trump-Backed Board Of Peace On Gaza Initiative

    Saudi Arabia and seven other countries have agreed to join a proposed Board of Peace following an invitation extended by United States President Donald J. Trump, according to a joint statement by their foreign ministers.

    The announcement was made by the foreign ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

    They said their countries have taken a shared decision to participate in the initiative and would sign the joining documents in line with their respective legal and procedural requirements. Egypt, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates were named as countries that have already announced their decision to join. In a statement explaining their position, the ministers said: “The Ministers reiterate their countries’ support for the peace efforts led by President Trump, and reaffirm their countries’ commitment to supporting the implementation of the mission of the Board of Peace as a transitional administration, as set out in the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict and endorsed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.” Trump back worls peace They added that the plan is “aimed at consolidating a permanent ceasefire, supporting the reconstruction of Gaza.”

    They also said the plan is focused on “advancing a just and lasting peace grounded in the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood in accordance with international law, thereby paving the way for security and stability for all countries and peoples of the region.”
