Husband Beats Wife To Coma For Refusing To Abort Baby

ABUJA- There was tension in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja As one woman, Mrs. Charity Olotu Fasasi, has been hospitalised after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband, Mr. David Fasasi Azeez.

The incident occurred over the weekend following a reported argument between the couple.

When our reporters visited the hospital, the victim was said to be in no condition to speak.

Neighbours alleged that Mr. Fasasi, now declared wanted by the police, had a history of assaulting his wife. They said the latest dispute arose after Mrs. Fasasi, a mother of four, informed her husband she was pregnant again. He allegedly insisted that the pregnancy be terminated.

One neighbour claimed the suspect offered his wife N5,000 to procure an abortion, but she refused. Under pressure, she reportedly took medication on her own, which led to complications and excessive bleeding.

“As soon as she started bleeding, he turned around and accused her of changing her mind. It’s not the first time he has beaten her, but she has been enduring in silence,” a neighbour said.

As of Monday, the whereabouts of the suspect remained unknown.
