It Is ‘Great Honour’ To Kill Iranian Leaders; Says Trump
United States President, Donald Trump, has said he feels honoured by the killing of Iranian leaders amid the ongoing war involving the United States, Israel and Iran, describing Tehran’s leadership as “deranged scumbags” and claiming they have been “wiped from the face of the earth.”
Trump made the remarks in a social media post shortly after midnight in Washington on Friday, as fighting in the conflict that began on February 28 continued.
“They’ve been killing innocent people all over the world for 47 years, and now I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them. What a great honor it is to do so!” Trump posted.
Iran’s longtime supreme leader Ali Khamenei and several other top figures in Tehran have reportedly been killed since the war was launched by the United States and Israel.
Trump also criticised media reports questioning the effectiveness of the military campaign, saying coverage could make it appear that the United States was not succeeding.
“You would incorrectly think that we are not winning,” he said.
According to Trump, Iran’s armed forces are suffering major losses. He said Iran’s military is “being decimated, and their leaders have been wiped from the face of the earth.”
In another post on Truth Social, Trump warned of intensified military action against Iran.
“We have unparalleled firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time — Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today,” he posted.
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the American military would intensify its strikes on Friday, describing the planned operations as the heaviest bombardment since the war began.
“In fact, today will be yet again, the highest volume of strikes that America has put over the skies of Iran and Tehran,” Hegseth told a press conference.
It was reported that United States President, Donald J. Trump, reiterated his opposition to Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.
He also boasted that the United States of America produces the world’s largest oil, stating that if Crude Oil prices continue to rise, his country will make more money.
Trump made the remarks in a statement posted on his Truth social media account on Thursday.
“The United States is the largest Oil Producer in the World, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money,” Trump said.
However, he stressed that economic gains from rising oil prices were not his primary concern, noting that his major focus remains preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
“But, of far greater interest and importance to me, as President, is stoping an evil Empire, Iran, from having Nuclear Weapons, and destroying the Middle East and, indeed, the World,” he added.
Trump also vowed that he would not allow such a development to occur.
“I won’t ever let that happen!” he said.
His comments came amid rising concerns on crude oil price which is blamed largely on the closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran.
Iran has insisted that the route will be closed, a move which many analysts have warned will drive up the global Crude oil price. Already, the route is said to account for 20% of global Crude oil supply.
The war between Iran and US/Israel has continued unabated with killings and wanton destruction of properties. All the sides involved in the war have continued to vow they won’t bulge to global calls for diplomacy.
Already, the situation was heightened after the killing of Iran late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, by the United States and Israeli military.
