BREAKING: Katsina On Fire As Bandits Kill Many, Injure Others

Bandits have killed two people and injured six others following an early morning attack on Naino village in Naalma Ward of Malumfashi Local Government Area, Katsina State.

According to security sources, the attackers stormed the village at about 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, entering from the direction of Musawa.

The bandits reportedly fired sporadically, causing panic among residents and leaving at least eight people with gunshot wounds.

Joint security forces were immediately deployed to the area after the attack, while the injured victims were evacuated to Malumfashi General Hospital for medical treatment, according to security intelligence expert Zagazola Makama.

Hospital sources confirmed that two of the victims, identified as Kamala Lawal, 35, and Tijjani Umaru, 35, were pronounced dead on arrival by a medical doctor.

The remaining six victims are currently receiving treatment, the report said.

In response to the incident, security operatives reportedly established blockades along suspected escape routes used by the attackers. Cordon-and-search operations have also been launched in surrounding areas to track down and apprehend those responsible.

Security presence in and around Naino village has since been reinforced to prevent further attacks, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The attack is the latest in a series of bandit-related assaults that have continued to affect rural communities across parts of Katsina State, despite ongoing security operations.
