Maduro’s Son Fires Back: “We’re Not Weak” As Venezuela Readies Next Move

Nicolás Maduro Guerra, the congressman son of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, has called on citizens to take to the streets to demand his father’s release following his capture by U.S. forces on Saturday.
The 35-year-old lawmaker made the appeal on Sunday in a defiant audio message shared on social media, urging supporters to mobilise nationwide.
“You will see us in the streets, you will see us by the people’s sides, you will see us fly the flag of dignity,” Guerra said.
He insisted that Venezuela is not weak and accused external forces of attempting to portray the country and its leadership as vulnerable.
Guerra, who is among six individuals—including his father and stepmother, Cilia Flores—accused by U.S. authorities of narcoterrorism, said his family and supporters would continue to resist pressure.
Meanwhile, the operation that led to President Maduro’s capture has sparked speculation that he may have been betrayed by someone within his inner circle. Guerra appeared to echo the claims, saying that time would eventually expose those responsible.
“History will reveal who the traitors are,” he said.
Naija News House reports that Guerra is the only biological son of the captured president. Maduro later adopted the three children of his second wife, Cilia Flores.
The situation continues to draw international attention as tensions remain high following the dramatic development in Venezuela.
