Man Beats His Wife Into Coma Four Days After Childbirth In Front Of Her Mother-in-law

Nigerian police has arrested a young man for allegedly assaulting his wife—just four days after she gave birth—in an incident that has triggered widespread outrage.

According to a post, the suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, allegedly beat his wife until she lost consciousness in front of their newborn baby and her mother.

The man and his sister initially denied the police entry while the newborn cried helplessly outside.

According to video, the police were forced to break down the door to apprehend the suspects.

She said, “News just got to me that this man brutally assaulted his wife who just gave birth 4 days ago. He beat her until she passed out and is in critical condition currently receiving emergency medical attention at the hospital.

“He beat her in front for his mother in law and baby.”

“The mother was beaten unconscious and rushed to the hospital. She is now in critical condition at the hospital,” she said.

In the video shared by the actress, the suspect is seen being questioned by police officers, who inform him that his wife is unconscious and on oxygen.

When asked about her whereabouts, he responded that he wanted to go and meet her at the hospital.

When pressed on why he assaulted her, he simply said, “We had an issue.”

The suspect’s arrest has sparked widespread outrage, with many demanding strict punishment for perpetrators of domestic violence.

“This case must not end here,” said Omosalewa.

Efforts to reach the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, for comments on the incident were unsuccessful, as he was said to be in a meeting.

The video clip of the arrest shows the moment police officers handcuffed the suspect and slapped him repeatedly during the process.

Meanwhile, a staff member of the Lagos State Domestic and S3xual Violence Agency said that the agency was not aware of the incident at the time of filing this report.
