Nigerian Man Defiles 7-Year-Old Girl, Blames It On Alcohol
A 39-year-old man, Sadiq Ahmed, has confessed to having defiled a seven-year-old girl in Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria.
Ahmed, however, blamed his action on the consumption of ‘burukutu,’ a locally brewed alcoholic beverage.
The incident happened on June 12, 2023, at the residence of the victim along Abuja Road in the Yola-South Local Government Area of the state, while the minor’s parents were away celebrating Democracy Day with friends.
Ahmed, while confessing to the crime on Thursday at the police state command headquarters in Yola, the state capital, said, “I was drunk after I took ‘burukutu’ on the ill-fated day.”
“He lured the kid with N10 and subsequently defiled her right in my own house,” the victim’s father disclosed.
The suspect was arrested by the police, following a complaint by the girl’s father, according to the spokesperson for the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
He said, “The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola has expressed concern over the incident and vowed to ensure the prosecution of the suspect.”
