Mass Defection Hits A’Ibom As Thousands Dump PDP For APC

Not less than 1000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thursday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State.

They officially denounced their membership from PDP in Ward 9, Esit Eket local government area, and declared their loyalty and support to the major opposition party.

The Defectors were received into the APC by a former spokesman of the House of Representatives Mr Eseme Eyiboh at his country home of Akpautong, Esit Eket.

Mr Eyiboh urged them to behave well and charged them to visit their respective units and participate in the ongoing APC membership registration/revalidation exercise update.

He commended the defectors for their decision and assured them that the party in all aspect would carry them along.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Mr Bassey Udoh expressed gratitude to Eyiboh and the leadership of Esit Eket APC for accepting them not subject to any consideration.

Mr Udoh said they had determined to come back to their political root so as to work with Mr Eyiboh fondly described as “the HoD of politics in Esit Eket and Akwa Ibom State”.

APC has yet to lead Akwa Ibom.
Udoh claimed that the “wretched” administration of Governor Udom led government showed that the APC will “take over” Akwa Ibom State come 2023.
