Media Editors Storm Anambra For Good Governance Tour, Honour Soludo With Excellence Award
In a major media engagement aimed at promoting transparency and excellence in leadership, the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) is set to embark on a high-level working visit to Anambra State. The visit, scheduled for June 27th to 28th, 2025, will feature a tour of key projects executed under the administration of the state governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
The delegation will be led by the National President of GOMEP-NG, Dr. Dozie, and the National Secretary, Otiti, alongside prominent members of the Organization drawn from across Nigeria. The media stakeholders are expected to inspect landmark infrastructure, human capital development projects, and policy reforms being implemented under the Soludo administration.
During the two-day event, the Guild will also confer a prestigious Good Governance Excellence Award on Governor Soludo in recognition of his administration’s bold initiatives in sustainable development, fiscal prudence, and inclusive governance. The award is part of GOMEP’s ongoing national campaign to spotlight outstanding leaders and reformers across the federation.
According to Spokesperson of the Organization, Comr. Dominic Edem, the Anambra State Government has demonstrated commendable strides in areas such as education reform, digital governance, security architecture, and road infrastructure, positioning the state as a benchmark for sub-national development in Nigeria. The project tour will provide firsthand insight into these initiatives and offer an independent assessment from the media body.
GOMEP-NG stated that the engagement is also aimed at fostering collaboration between digital media platforms and government institutions to enhance public accountability, accurate reportage, and citizens’ participation in democratic governance. The Guild noted that Anambra’s unique transformation agenda deserves national media attention and constructive dialogue.
The visit will culminate in a formal ceremony at the Government House, Awka, where the Excellence Award will be presented to Governor Soludo. The Guild expressed confidence that the tour will further deepen public trust and celebrate the value of purposeful leadership in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
