BREAKING: Terrorists Sets Nigerian Military Trucks Ablaze

Bandit terrorists have set ablaze four MRAP military trucks in Zurmi, Zamfara State after Nigerian troops aborted a planned ambush against them.

It was gathered that the troops abandoned the MRAP trucks, valued at over N1billion each, as well as cache of arms and ammunition.

In a video released by the bandits on Saturday, the bandit leader Bello Turji was seen alongside his fighters jubilating and looting boxes of ammunition before setting the trucks on fire.

Security insiders said that the military got an intel that a group of bandits led by Turji would hold a meeting in the forest.

On getting the intel, the sources said, the troops mobilised two MRAP to ambush the terrorists.

The sources added that the first two trucks unfortunately stuck in the mud, and then two more MRAP trucks were despatched to rescue and complement the mission.

“It is unfortunate that the second two trucks also stuck in the mud as they reached the muddy, waterlogged terrain. In that situation, coupled with poor visibility, they abandoned the trucks and returned back to base.

“It is sad that they only took their personal rifles and fled the scene. The ideal response to a situation of this nature is for the troops to destroy the trucks and all the arms before they left the scene but they failed to do that,” said the source.

Nigerian military has yet to speak on the situation at the time of filing this report.
