A’Ibom LG Polls: Uruan Monarch Endorses Ekpenyong, Others
Following the forthcoming Akwa Ibom Local Government Election, Hon. Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong, Chairmanship flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uruan Local Government Area, and his vice, Mrs Grace Edem,
paid a consultative visit to His Royal Majesty, Edidem Cosmas Nkanga.
The delegation led by the INIABASI 2024 campaign Director-General, Hon. Sylvester Emah, to the palace of the paramount ruler at Ikot Edung, was in preparation of the ward tour by the PDP for the October 5 election.
Addressing the traditional chiefs, the Campaign DG, Hon. Emah, stated that the visit was to seek the monarchs’ blessings for the Uruan Local Government election ambition, as well as to brief them on the Chairmanship’s candidate’s lofty plans for the people of Uruan, while appealing for support of the INIABASI project, as the ward tour will begin on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Earlier, the chairmanship candidate said that the prayers and blessings received during his visit in 2020 yielded positive results, as he would not have failed to visit the palace for another blessings.
He stated that his knowledge of the Local Government’s problems, which he had been addressing through various empowerment programmes, had prepared him for the task of rescuing and consolidating when elected chairman.
In their separate remarks, Obong (Barr) E. Ikpong, Edidem P. J. Effiong, and Obong Uduak Bassey praised the team for recognizing the traditional stool while advising them to remain project-oriented when elected, pursue human capital development projects, and not lose sight of the other candidates in the race.
The paramount ruler in his confirmatory remarks, affirmed that Hon. Ekpenyong has lived up to the expectation due to the overwhelming support and solidarity enjoy from Uruan people.
Edidem Nkanga while congratulating the Chairmanship flag bearer and his team in advance noted that Uruan Local Government will maintain its place to return the PDP elected in all the wards as it has always been a party that gather for the wellbeing of the people.
