BREAKING: NAF Strikes Destroy Boko Haram Fighters, IED Factory, Gun Trucks

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has destroyed a terrorists improvised explosive device (IED) factory and several gun trucks in Kwaltiri, located within the volatile Tumbuktu Triangle of Borno State.

The precision airstrikes, conducted on June 18, 2025, were based on credible intelligence reports that revealed heightened terrorist activity in the area.

Surveillance missions confirmed the existence of an IED-making site and multiple vehicles linked to insurgents.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the air interdiction resulted in the naturalisation of dozens of terrorists.

The strikes dealt a significant blow to the terrorists’ logistics and command infrastructure.

Edward noted that the successful strikes not only disrupted their command and control networks but also degraded their logistics chain, severely impacting their operational momentum and morale.

Air Commodore Ejodame added that the mission reinforces NAF’s unwavering commitment to dismantling terrorist strongholds and restoring peace in the North East region.

The statement read, “The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation HADIN ΚΑΙ (OPHK), has destroyed an IED factory, terrorist gun trucks and eliminated dozens of fighters in Kwaltiri, within the Tumbuktu Triangle, Borno State. The 18 June 2025 airstrike followed intelligence reports of terrorist activity in the area.

“Surveillance confirmed the presence of an IED-making site and vehicles, which were struck in precision passes by NAF aircraft.

“The operation is a major blow to terrorists’ fighting capabilities, as the successful strikes not only disrupted their command and control as well as logistics chains but also sent shockwaves through their ranks, significantly degrading their morale and operational momentum.

“It reinforces NAF’s resolve to degrade terrorist capabilities and enhance security in the North-East.”
