NAHCON Fixes Pilgrimage Fare At N8.2million

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a new fare for intending pilgrims in the 2026 Hajj season.
It will be recalled that the commission had last month set N8.5million as the tentative fare for the 2026 Hajj exercise, pending the final announcement of the fare.
A statement by the commission on Saturday, said pilgrims travelling from Maiduguri-Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Taraba States) will pay, N8,118,33.67, while those in other Northern States will pay N8,244,813.67.
However, those in Southern States will pay N8,561,013.67.
The statement explained that the price was arrived at after due consultations with all the relevant stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership and obtaining the approval of the Federal Government.
The Chairman/CEO National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Prof Abdullahi Sale Usman was quoted to have stated that compared to what was charged last year, this year, each pilgrim is to pay average of two hundred thousand naira less.
“Meanwhile, the NAHCON delegation who are currently in Saudi Arabia met and signed agreement with the 2026 Hajj Service Provider Company (Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya) and the Transportation Company (Daleel Al-Ma’aleem).”
He urged all intending pilgrims to complete their payment before 31st December, 2025.
