PROTEST: NANS Hold Funeral As Buhari Buried Education
It has been reported the National Association of Nigerian Students, South-West Zone, has said that it is ready to conduct a funeral for public education, accusing the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), of burying public education in the country.
The students, in a statement signed by its Coordinator and Spokesperson, Adegboye Olatunji and Awoyinfa Opeoluwa, respectively, and made available to The media on Monday, said in the coming days, they would be hitting the streets again.
It behooves us to call the attention of the general public and the international community on the brazen insult meted on the mass of Nigerian students by the irresponsible administration of Buhari.
Without considering the fact that Nigerian university students have been at home for close to eight months as a result of the failure of this administration to meet the demands of striking lecturers and to properly fund education, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, is to be conferred with the National Honour of Commander of the Order of Niger.
Buhari buried education, we will hold funeral – NANS.
