NACETEM, NBTI Partner NASS to Host G-STIC Confab On Innovation, Sustainability

The National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) and the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), in collaboration with the Senate Committee on Science and Technology are set to host a ground-breaking two-day conference and masterclass under the auspices of the Global Sustainable Technology and Innovation Community (G-STIC).
Themed “Powering the Next Generation of Innovation,” the event will take place on Tuesday, 21st and Wednesday, 22nd October 2025 at the National Assembly Library, Abuja, with hybrid participation options for both in-person and virtual attendees.
G-STIC is a globally recognized platform dedicated to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through science, technology, and innovation. As a proud member of this community, NACETEM is leveraging the event to position Nigeria at the forefront of global innovation discourse.
According to the Director General of NACETEM, Dr. Olushola Odusanya, the conference will convene policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, development partners, and tech innovators to explore transformative solutions across sectors such as artificial intelligence, climate action, vocational training and digital infrastructure.
The key highlights of the event include the launch of the NACETEM AI Ecosystem, unveiling of the Cosmopolitan University DataCube, Smart Boats Project, Augmented Reality Welding Showcase, and Credufy/NACETEM Education Partnership. Others are the FUT Minna STI Programs and the Whitecloud TVET MoU signing.
The training components of the conference will enable participants to benefit from expert-led sessions on Artificial Intelligence concepts and applications, Systems Thinking and System Dynamics, case studies on AI in governance, health, agriculture and simulation exercises addressing Nigeria’s development challenges.
Some of the key speakers at the conference are Senator Iya Abbas, Chairman, Senate Committee on Science and Technology; Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, Director General of NBTI and co-host of the event; Professor Stefano Armenia, the President of the System Dynamics Italian Chapter (SYDIC); Professor Carl Adams, the Vice Chancellor of Cosmopolitan University; as well as Mr. Joseph Wehbe, the Chief Ecosystem Builder and Chief Executive Officer of Daimlas, and Mohammed Esat, Financial Outsourcing Director of Forvis Mazars UK.
This event marks a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s journey toward a knowledge-based economy, showcasing home-grown innovations and fostering global partnerships that will shape the future of sustainable development.
