Senator Ned Nwoko Blasts Okowa For Bringing Oborevwori, Labels The Governor As MC Olumo
Abuja – Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has blasted the former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for bringing Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as governor of the state, Naija News House reports.
Nwoko made the statement on Wednesday after the Senate formally announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress, following his recent resignation from the opposition party.
Naija News House had earlier reported that Nwoko highlighted the current state of PDP, internal crises, and instability as reasons for his defection to APC.
Naija News House reports that Nwoko had stated that he left the PDP because Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and former governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, did not give him space to function.
Naija News House gathered that thunderous chants erupted as he was escorted to the majority wing of the Upper Chamber.
The lawmaker, while addressing his people in the national assembly, said, “I can’t be in a government where everybody is loyal to the previous governor; nobody thinks about the youths; they don’t think of the people. What kind of government is that? The government that I understand is to provide for the people, to make things available for the people, like water, light, and roads.”
“Enough is enough,” he continued. “It is a shame that Okowa disposed of a governor who is not capable of governing a state like Delta, which has many well-educated and exposed individuals, and you bring someone who doesn’t know anything about governance.”
“Imagine Okowa bringing another MC Olumo from Lagos to Delta.”
Naija News House gathered that after addressing his supporters for about 20 minutes, he left for APC headquarters.
