SDP Presidential Aspirant, Adebayo says Nigeria Needs Help And Access To Justice
According to Prince Adewole Adebayo, the legal infrastructure globally is not built to deliver justice and Nigeria is not an exception. He added that the practice by many expert lawyers has excluded many Nigerian and who think that justice was not for them, noting that such perception has been unconsciously created and sustained over time to the poor who have concluded that legal firms cannot be afforded and will not offer the legal representation they need.
The 2023 presidential aspirant, stated this during news briefing with Liberty News in Abuja Maria Zakiri .
“The challenge we have is that the mechanism for enforcing any of these manifestations of justice relies on the legal infrastructure and the legal infrastructure itself is a barricade because of the history of the world relationship of human being with land and with property and these costs are cost set up by those who are in charge of society and society itself is not just and the legal system is set up to keep law and order and law and order is not even a cause of justice, they are not even from the same town”.. he said.
Speaking further, he stressed that Nigeria needs help and access to justice as many don’t have access to justice and at some point may begin to lose their sense of entitlement to justice.
“Then in the terms of philosophy, a country has to define itself, GMP, foreign Reserve and all these other metrics a country has to define itself relate to how justice is delivered, how just is your society”…he said.
Nigeria’s country representative, Ijeoma Nwafor who led a team of the Hague Institute for Innovation, revealed the outcome of her research which exposes the weakness of justice served in Nigeria.
Founding director of Hague Institute for Innovation, Samuel Muller said they came to the conclusion that about 5.1 billion people in the world do not have adequate access to justice, which is two thirds of the world’s population. In Abuja Maria Zakiri, Liberty news.
Above all, let us seek to define success by the ability to deliver Justice to Nigerians. Every member of society should have access to Justice; both in the affordability of legal instruments, and in confidence for adequate representation… Prince Adewole Adebayo can make the aforementioned possible if given the chance to rule Nigeria come 2023.
