OPM Pastor Rejects Girl Abandoned At His Gate, Says ‘My House Is Full’

The general overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM), Chibuzor Chinyere has raised concerns after an unidentified young girl was discovered sleeping at the gate of his residence.

In a recent social media post, the cleric shared that his closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage revealed the girl had been left there, allegedly abandoned by her parents.

Chibuzor accused the parents of deliberately abandoning the child at his gate, possibly expecting him to take her in.

He stated that he had contacted the police to take the girl away, emphasising that his home was already overcrowded and that the rising cost of food made it difficult to accommodate more people.

“Happening now…. 12 May 2025. Upon my CCTV, see what I found at my gate this morning. E no go work. It’s better her parents come and carry her back. My house is over full, and the price of food has over doubled. Police are on their way to pick her up,” he wrote.

The clergyman condemned the act, describing it as “wickedness” rather than poverty.

“No matter how things are difficult, I can never tell my 12 year old teenage daughter to go and lie down at the gate of a total stranger. There is difference between POVERTY AND WICKEDNESS. Instead, I will work as a cleaner or gate man than to do this to my child,” he added.

Chibuzor is also known for his philanthropic work. Through the Omega Power Ministry Foundation, the cleric is said to have supported hundreds of underprivileged children.

The foundation is believed to run free institutions, including a free school, a specialist hospital, and a skill acquisition centre.

However, in 2023, the cleric was in the news following his rift with Happie Boys — a two-man team of private security workers who gained attention for content creation.

They were fired from their jobs at an eatery in Aba, Abia state, for dancing while on duty.

Following their dismissal, Happie Boys were granted scholarships by Chinyere to study in Cyprus.

The duo later accused their benefactor of leaving them stranded in Cyprus.

The matter left both parties at loggerheads, with the clergyman hurling expletive-laden words at the duo.

Chinyere later offered them the option to return to continue their studies in Nigeria or the Benin Republic.

They, however, rejected the offer, saying they no longer needed scholarships or financial assistance from the church.

The 51-year-old cleric also denied a claim that he impregnated a lady.

In August 2023, the lady, identified as Loveth, in an interview with Daniel Ochu, the human rights activist, alleged that Chinyere impregnated her in 2018.

Loveth claimed she was 18 when they started having an affair, between March and April 2019.

The lady said she worked with the sanitation department of the church and stayed on and off the premises.

She also alleged that the pastor got her pregnant while she was preparing to marry Chinedu, one of the church workers.
