Nigerian Government Unveils Payment App For Civil Servants

In a bid to streamline salary payments and reduce administrative costs, the Plateau State Government has launched the Pay Plateau App, a digital platform designed for civil servants.

The app, developed in collaboration with Smart Apps IT Ltd, aims to reduce paperwork and processing times for essential documents such as pay slips, while also promoting financial transparency.

This initiative is part of Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s broader strategy to digitally transform the state, according to the Director General of the Plateau State ICT Development Agency (PICTDA), Engr. Dominic Datong Gwaman.

Speaking at the launch event held at the Banquet Hall, New Government House in Jos, Gwaman highlighted the importance of the app in driving the state’s digital agenda.

The event, held on Thursday, September 26, was attended by key government officials, including the Head of Civil Service, Mr. Stephen Pam Gadong; the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Dongkum Grace Shwarta; and the Accountant General, Mrs. Nanret Asabe Mangset. Other dignitaries, such as the General Manager of Plateau Express Services, Samuel Gwott, were also present.

Represented by Permanent Secretary Mr. Musa Nyam, the Head of Civil Service, Mr. Stephen Pam Gadong, expressed gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for his commitment to modernizing the civil service. He lauded the Pay Plateau App as a tool that will ease the workload of civil servants and improve overall efficiency.

Goodwill messages poured in from various government officials, who commended the foresight of both PICTDA and Governor Mutfwang. The CEO of Smart Apps IT Ltd, Mr. Godwin Odoma, also thanked the state government for the opportunity to contribute to the state’s technological advancement, pledging to deliver excellent service.

A key highlight of the event was the demonstration of the Pay Plateau App to salary officers and liaison officers from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), who will provide technical support to civil servants.

The Pay Plateau App allows civil servants to access their salary information and related financial documents, such as pay slips, through a streamlined digital process. Users will need their unique Civil Service Verification Number and other personal information to utilize the app.
