Cross River Commissioner Dies After Attending Exco Meeting
The Cross River State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mr. Robert Ewa, has tragically passed away.
According to reports by Channels TV, Ewa died on Wednesday evening at the Arubah Specialist Hospital in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.
Details surrounding the cause of his death remain unclear, but his passing has sent shockwaves across the state, particularly within the tourism and arts community, where he was a notable figure.
โAs at the time of filing this report, members of the Cross River State Executive Council and other aides of Governor Bassey Otu are gathered at the facility to mourn with the deceased family.
โHe was present at the stateโs executive council meeting earlier on Wednesday which was presided by Governor Otu.
โEwa served as Secretary and later, Chairman of the Boki Local Government Council. He also served as Special Adviser Community Relations and Secretary of the Anti-Deforestation Task Force,โ the report read.
The state government is yet to issue a statement on the commissionerโs death as of the time of filing this report.
