Police Officers Arrested For Behaving Like Cultists

The Imo state police command says it has arrested three officers captured in a viral video engaging in “unprofessional conduct” and alleged cult-related activities.

Henry Okoye, spokesperson of the command, announced the arrest in a statement via X on Saturday.

Okoye said the officers identified as Obinna Peter, Amaechi Augustine, and Ejikeme Victor have been taken into custody following the directive of Aboki Danjuma, the commissioner of police in the state.

He said the command has commenced a thorough investigation into their alleged involvement in cultism and other related offences, adding that an orderly room trial will begin on Monday.

Okoye said the conduct of the officers in the viral clip was “highly unprofessional” and “does not reflect the discipline, ethics, and values of the Nigeria Police Force”.

He added that the outcome of the trial will be made public in due course, assuring residents that the command remains committed to professionalism, accountability, and transparency in its operations.
