VIDEO: Political Thugs Set Ablaze ADC Secretariat

The Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State has been set ablaze by suspected hoodlums, in what the party described as a politically motivated attack.

In a video posted on the ADC’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, the party confirmed that the incident occurred overnight, destroying the building and thousands of plastic chairs.

According to the party’s statement, the attack was carried out by those allegedly threatened by the ADC’s growing popularity and organisational strength in the state.

“Our Party Secretariat was set ablaze this morning by those threatened by the rising momentum and formidable organisational structure that the Ekiti ADC is building.

“This cowardly act is most unfortunate, yet it will only fortify our determination and unity. The formidable Ekiti State ADC has come to stay,” the party said.

The attack coincided with the party’s Reconfiguration and Affirmation Ceremony for its executives at the ward, local government, senatorial, and state levels.

Despite the destruction, ADC leaders vowed to continue their political activities undeterred.

“Our spirit remains unbroken; our vision, unstoppable,” the statement added.

The police in Ekiti State have not yet issued an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
