Court Orders Forfeiture Of Pretty Mike’s Nightclub

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the interim forfeiture of a nightclub owned by popular Lagos socialite, Pretty Mike, after the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) accused him of using the premises for drug storage and distribution.

Justice Musa Kakaki granted the order on Tuesday following an ex parte motion filed by NDLEA’s counsel, Mr. Buhari Abdulahi.

The property Proxy Lagos Night Club, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, was allegedly used to stash 169 cylinders (384.662kg) of nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas) and 200 grams of cannabis sativa.

According to the NDLEA, the nightclub is owned by Mike Nwalie (Pretty Mike) and one Joachim Hillary, who allegedly used the spot as a base to prepare for a large-scale drug party.

Abdulahi, while moving the motion dated October 27, 2025, urged the court to grant the interim forfeiture order, describing the nightclub as an “instrumentality of crime” under the NDLEA Act.

He also asked the court to suspend all activities at the nightclub pending the outcome of investigations.

In a supporting affidavit, Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Nasiru Garba Bungudu, said the NDLEA received credible intelligence in October 2025 about a planned drug party at the club. Acting on the tip-off, NDLEA operatives from the Lagos Strategic Command raided the nightclub around midnight on October 26, 2025, recovering the seized substances.

Over 200 persons, including the two suspects, were arrested during the operation. Lab analysis later confirmed that the confiscated substances were controlled drugs.

The agency further alleged that Proxy Lagos Night Club had a history of drug-related activities known to its owner.

After reviewing the evidence, Justice Kakaki granted the NDLEA’s request and ordered the interim forfeiture of the nightclub to the Federal Government.

All operations at the venue were also ordered suspended until investigations are completed.
