The General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West Operation FASAN YAMMA Major General Ibikunle Ajose has affirmed 8 Division’s Commitment in strengthening its partnership with UNICEF to improve child welfare and humanitarian emergency response across its area of operation. The commitment was reaffirmed during a visit by UNICEF Nigeria Country Representative, Mr Charles Lolika, to the Headquartets 8 Division.

Representing the GOC, the Chief of Staff Headquarters 8 Division, Brigadier General Abubakar Suru reteirated the Division’s unwavering support for UNICEF’s life-saving work. “We recognize the critical role UNICEF plays in protecting vulnerable children and responding to emergencies,” He stated. He further said The 8 Division is fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of UNICEF personnel and facilitating the effective implementation of their programmes in our area of responsibility.

Mr Lolika expressed his gratitude for the Nigerian Army’s continued collaboration. “The Nigerian Army’s support is instrumental in enabling UNICEF to reach children in need,” he said. “This visit allows us to further strengthen our partnership, ensuring we have the access and support necessary to address critical issues like malnutrition and provide timely, coordinated emergency assistance.”
