Until his appointment, Umar was the district head of Bunkure.

The deposed emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya, was reinstated as emir of Gaya.

Unlike other deposed emirs,Abdulkadir accepted his fate and expressed willingness to work in any capacity after his deposition was announced.

The governor congratulated the newly appointed emirs and enjoined them to be the custodians of culture ,peace and unity of the people in their respective Emirates.

The statement said all the appointment were with immediate effect.

NNH had reported how the Kano Assembly passed the Kano State Emirate Council establishment bill, on Tuesday.
