Nigeria Congratulates The Republic Of Tunisia On Its Independence Anniversary

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, extends warm congratulations to the His Excellency, Mohamed Ali Nafti, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia on the occasion of their Independence Anniversary.

This historic occasion marks Tunisia’s attainment of independence in 1956 and reflects the country’s enduring commitment to sovereignty, national development, and democratic evolution. The Federal Government of Nigeria recognizes the significance of this milestone and joins in celebrating the resilience and achievements of the Tunisian people.

Nigeria and the Republic of Tunisia have maintained cordial and mutually beneficial diplomatic relations over the years, anchored on shared values of mutual respect, African solidarity, and constructive engagement. Both countries continue to cooperate in bilateral and multilateral fora, particularly within the African Union and the United Nations, in advancing peace, stability, and sustainable development across the African continent.

Nigeria acknowledges Tunisia’s contributions to regional stability, economic development, and institutional strengthening in North Africa, and values ongoing engagements aimed at enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, education, tourism, and cultural exchange. The complementarities between both countries provide opportunities for deepening economic collaboration and fostering stronger people-to-people ties.

Therefore, on this auspicious occasion, Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Tunisia through sustained diplomatic dialogue and expanded cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.

The Federal Government of Nigeria conveys its best wishes to the Government and people of Tunisia for continued peace, progress, and prosperity.

    Signed:
