She Is A Content Creator; Catholic Church Rubbishies Sacked Rev. Sister Over Allegations Of S3xual Harassment

The Veritas University, Abuja, has refuted claims by a dismissed nun, Rev. Sr. Anastasia Kinse, that she was sexually harassed by a priest, saying she failed to present any evidence to support her allegations.

The Veritas Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications, Ben Agande, made the clarification on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television.

He explained that after Kinse submitted her resignation letter to the Vice-Chancellor on July 2, the university constituted a four-member committee, headed by a medical doctor and including one woman, to investigate her allegations.

Agande stated that she was invited and asked to provide the evidence she said she had, but she never provided any.

He described Kinse’s recent public statements as an attempt to generate attention online rather than a pursuit of truth.

According to Agande, “She was invited and asked to provide the evidence she said she had but she never provided any.

“Former Rev. Sr. Kinse’s narration in these few days is born out of content creation because she already admitted that she’s now a content creator and content creation is not guided by facts.

“So, her narrative tries to justify those wild allegations that she made.”

Naija News House reported that the dismissed Catholic nun, Rev. Sr. Anastasia Kinse, has alleged that she was sexually harassed by a priest within the Catholic Church but said she could not publicly release the evidence she has.

Speaking on Monday during an interview on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television, Sr. Anastasia, who previously served under the Auchi Catholic Diocese in Edo State, claimed she was dismissed from her job at Veritas University in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, after exposing alleged sexual misconduct by priests.

The former nun said she joined the Congregation of Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters in 2015 but soon began facing challenges after reporting incidents of alleged sexual advances by priests.

She added that in 2016, a priest invited her to spend a week with him at his parish, which she declined, while another allegedly put his belt around her waist under the guise of taking her measurements for clothes.

According to her, the psychological impact of these incidents was later described by Church authorities as “madness,” leading to her dismissal from both her congregation and her teaching role.

According to her, “I find it very funny when I was asked for evidence, but in our world today, imagine me coming out, calling names and talking doesn’t make any sense.

“It’s not as if the evidences that I was sexually harassed by a priest do not exist, they do, but I cannot put them out there.

“I have a video and an audio recording that shows where the Veritas HOD harassed me.

“I joined the congregation of Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters in 2015. After that I experienced so many challenges and I had always confided in my Superior-General and my Bishop.

“The issue has been that I was always complaining, according to them. First, I wrote to the bishop that the priest was always shouting at me whenever I came to the office to talk to him.”

She stated, “I told my superior about a priest I was living in the same compound with, that on a fateful day I went into his room and he tried to touch me and I don’t just understand if that’s a norm and my superior told me to ignore him.

“There was a priest in 2016 that said I should go with him in his car to his parish for a week and I felt that shouldn’t happen.

“And another priest put his belt on my waist trying to check the size of the clothes he would get me when I visit him, and that broke me, gave me a lot of trauma which is what they termed madness,” she added.
