Senator Bassey Mourns Lady Lucy Edem
Senator Aniekan Bassey, Representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District has commiserated with Dr Eventus Edem over the demise of his mother, the late Lady Lucy Dominic Edem, aged 69.
The Senator started this on Friday during a funeral service in honour of the deceased at St Cyprian’s Catholic Church, Ikot Akan, Uruan Local Government in Akwa Ibom State.
Senator Bassey, in a message of condolence to the bereaved family, described the late Lady Edem as a revered community leader and a Lady of the Order of Knights of Saint Mulumba Nigeria, who lived for the advancement of the teachings of Christ.
“Though Lady Lucy Dominic Edem lived a spirited, elegant, and impactful life, she directed her love and energy towards service to God and humanity,” he maintained.
He further charged the family, particularly Dr. Eventus Edem, who doubled as the National Coordinator of RHAB-Mega Movement and the Spokesperson of the Uyo Senatorial District Campaign Council, to be consoled by the indelible memories and positive legacies of the deceased.
Senator Bassey is the Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development in upper chamber.
